After writing features for New Line Cinema, Paramount, and Sony Animation; Dan branched out into video game writing as well. He drafted plot and dialogue for Sony Online Entertainment, EA Games, and Ubisoft. Then, after several years of writing for Disney’s feature department, Dan dove headfirst into designing escape rooms and ended up with eight story-driven rooms under his belt, one of which received the Golden Lock Award. During the pandemic he and his sisters, Stephanie and Denise, completed their first fiction novel.
During the editing process, Dan began to explore the world of NFTs. And soon, he began creating worlds, stories, puzzles, and lore for the NFT community – the perfect outlet for his lifelong passion of conjuring wonder for his audience.
Stephanie loves Star Wars and finds reasons to dress as Princess Leia whenever possible at her day job.
She keeps her Christmas tree up year-round and changes the theme each month to celebrate the upcoming holiday such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Fourth of July.
She lives in Denver with her husband Steve, mom Jackie and furry BFF, kiki. When she’s done hiking, skiing or windsurfing, you’ll find her inside cooking or reading a book… always dreaming up her next big idea.
Denise’s laugh can be heard across the room. She loves to tell stories and extrapolate reality into a fun weave of fantasy, magic, and adventure.
Being born in Texas and raised across the United States as a military kid, Denise values the support of her siblings who have remained close throughout her life. As a military spouse herself, she knows the importance of family, however it is created or maintained.
Even today, Denise and her siblings use each other’s unique skills and assets to create exciting stories with plot twists and beautiful settings. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and an MA in English and Creative writing. Her four children and husband stir endless inspiration at their home in Virginia.
Wilson Bendrick Hayes is a nom de plume that is a story in and of itself.
Dan Wilson, Stephanie Bendrick, and Denise Hayes are Air Force siblings who grew up
constantly relocating. Friends and homes came and went, but their one consistency was a
strong family bond. As they came of age, all three went their separate ways – Dan to Los
Angeles, Stephanie to Colorado with her husband, and Denise continued to travel with her
military spouse and family. Each sibling pursued a different career path, and their personalities
grew in vastly different directions.
One fateful holiday, Denise’s children inspired Stephanie and Denise to propose an idea to their
brother, a screenwriter for major studios by trade. By nightfall, the three conjured up a
children’s story concept that later evolved into a young adult novel. The three of them attended
seminars, outlined story, wrote rough drafts, edited, and rewrote. They used their unique
perspectives as tools and shared childhood passions as glue, pushing through the barriers.
Mirroring the theme of Darkender and Lightgiver, the power of family came together – Wilson
Bendrick Hayes became an unstoppable union.
Inspired by their experience, Denise achieved her master’s in creative writing, Stephanie’s keen
editorial eye blossomed, and Dan, having added more screenplays and video games to his
resume, tackled his greatest challenge – the novel.
Forged in the intersection of sibling rivalry and childhood comradery, the first novel in the
Darkender and Lightgiver series is now at hand.
